Whether it’s your first serve or your 100th win, we want you in the #HonchoFam!

Honcho’s 8-week Rotating-Partner Ladder Leagues are built for individual players who want to connect, compete and improve—no teammate required:

  • This is an open skill, all gender format. Players self-rate during registration by designating their skill level from our drop down options, which helps set balanced matchups for Week 1.
  • Based on your performance the prior week, you either move up or down the ladder ensuring  you’re always playing against like-skilled players, weekly.
  • Every league night, you’ll play three games, each one with a different partner. Same night – three different dynamics!

The perfect way to meet new people, play balanced matchups, and elevate your game in a fun, dynamic format!

Honcho Perks

Season and Ladder League Format Deets!

Season Length: 8 weeks of league play within an 8–10 week season — we keep a small buffer so that weather delays or venue changes never cost you a week of play. And every game counts toward your ladder standing!

Ladder League – Season Snapshot

  • 3 games guaranteed every week
  • Each game is a 20-minute time block with a different partner-pairing
  • Your league night is the same each week, within the time window listed at registration
  • Group size varies week to week based on RSVPs at your venue — Honcho builds your groupings from there. Depending on your group, you may have a short window between games. Use it to watch the action, grab some water (or bevs), and get to know who you’re about to share a court with!

Open Skill Format

  • Ladder League is open skill level
  • The skill level you select at checkout is used to set up Week 1 pairings
  • Matchups vary throughout the season based on weekly results and attendance, moving players up or down the ladder to keep matches as evenly skilled as possible.
  • This format is built for growth and connection. You’ll play with and meet new people, adapt your game, and make a ton of new friends along the way. Because of that, Ladder League doesn’t include playoffs, a Head Honcho prize package, or DUPR reporting — it’s designed for the climb, not the podium.

Important Adjustment & Refund Info

  • Change Requests & Refund Deadline: May 7, 2026 — This is the last day to request any changes, cancellations, or refunds. After this date, all registrations are final with no exceptions.
  • After May 7, 2026, we cannot move players between leagues/divisions/formats or provide any refunds of any kind.
    • You’ll have over four weeks from registration opening to make sure this league fits your schedule and commitments — we want you to feel confident before you commit!
  • Cancellations requested before the deadline are eligible for a full refund minus the $5 processing fee.

How Scheduling Works

Ladder League scheduling is built around you — but it does require an RSVP from you each week.

  • When you register, you’ll commit to a league night (ex: Mondays, 6–10pm). Hold that full window each week — your exact start time lands closer to game day.
  • 4 days before your league night, you’ll get an RSVP request via email and text. Confirm you’re in, and you’re on the schedule. Opt out, and you’ll sit that week out — no makeup games, but no penalty either.
  • You’ll have 36 hours to RSVP. If we haven’t heard from you, we’ll send one reminder before the window closes.
  • 3 days before your league night, confirmed players receive their full schedule — exact start times, court assignments, and partners for each of your three games.

How to Honcho – Simplified League Rules

  • Once you RSVP yes, you’re in the schedule — and your league mates are counting on you. If something comes up after your start times are confirmed, it’s on you to arrange a sub to be sent in your  place. Your sub can be another player in the league with a different time slot that night, or someone outside of Honcho entirely.
  • No-shows are taken seriously. If you RSVP yes and don’t show up without arranging a sub, that’s an attendance strike. Three strikes and you’re removed from the league — no refund. We know life happens, but a no-show doesn’t just affect you — it affects everyone waiting on that court.
  • Player Conduct: Know the rules, respect everyone, and play fair. Remember, we’re all here to have fun and compete.
  • Score Reporting:
    • Players are responsible for reporting game results in the League Software as soon as the game ends/prior to leaving the venue (within 24 hours at the latest).
    • If results aren’t submitted, Honcho will assume outcomes based on prior week seeding.
    • Games are standard-scored to 11 (win by 2, cap at 15)—enough time to play, connect, and get in a solid session.
  • Finish early? Keep playing! If your game wraps up before your time block ends, the court is yours — use it. Just keep in mind that only the first game in each time block counts toward your ladder standing. Everything after that is bonus court time, and we highly encourage you to take it.

Honcho Policies:

  • Honcho reserves the right to adjust league schedules, court locations, and venue locations as needed. These changes are rare but may be necessary to ensure smooth operations and full participation across all markets.
  • Weekly RSVP is required to be included in that week’s schedule. Players who do not RSVP will not be scheduled and are not eligible for a makeup game. There is no penalty for opting out or missing the RSVP window, but no refunds will be issued for missed weeks.
  • League play may take place on indoor or outdoor courts, depending on what the venue has available at the beginning of the season. If court type is important to you, we recommend reviewing your venue’s website to see whether their facility has outdoor courts before registering. Honcho cannot accommodate court type/location requests.
